Role and Responsibilities:

As a Sales Associate in the Building Materials department, you will be the go-to expert for customers working on construction, remodeling, or repair projects.

• Greet and assist customers, understanding their project needs and offering product recommendations for lumber, drywall, cement, roofing, insulation, and other building materials.
• Help customers locate, load, and transport materials as needed.
• Maintain deep knowledge of building materials, construction basics, current promotions, and product features.
• Upsell complementary products such as tools, fasteners, and protective gear.
• Ensure shelves are stocked, organized, and properly labeled.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damages.
• Set up displays and signage for seasonal and promotional items.
• Operate equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks with training and certification.
• Follow Lowe’s safety protocols and assist with lifting heavy products safely.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and managers to support customer needs and store operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted (more with assistance).
• Comfortable using mobile devices and point-of-sale systems.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months of sales or customer service experience in retail.
• 6 months experience with building materials, construction, or home improvement.
• Experience operating forklifts or power equipment (training provided if needed).
• Bilingual skills depending on community needs.
