Role and Responsibilities:

As a Sales Associate in the Plumbing Department at Lowe's, you will deliver top-tier customer service by helping customers find the right plumbing products and solutions. Your product knowledge, hands-on support, and problem-solving skills will assist both DIYers and pros with everything from quick fixes to major installations.

• Greet and assist customers with locating plumbing products and understanding their use.
• Offer guidance on product features, benefits, warranties, and installation.
• Recommend additional products and solutions based on project needs.
• Prepare merchandise, including cutting/threading pipes and assembling plumbing kits.
• Provide product support for water heaters, faucets, PVC, copper piping, and fittings.
• Stay up-to-date on plumbing codes, tools, and installation practices.
• Stock shelves and maintain organized, safe, and clean displays.
• Process transactions, special orders, and returns using mobile devices or POS systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments to support customer needs.
• Share insights and feedback with team members and participate in ongoing training.
• Follow all Lowe’s safety procedures, including handling tools, sealants, and pipe materials.
• Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and report issues promptly.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.
• Comfortable using computers, handheld scanners, or point-of-sale systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ months of retail or customer service experience (preferably in plumbing or home improvement).
• Familiarity with plumbing products and materials (e.g., pipe types, fittings, sealants).
• Trade experience or certifications in plumbing (a plus).
• Bilingual skills are beneficial depending on the store’s community.
