Role and Responsibilities
In the role of Retail Solutions Specialist, you'll serve as a key point of contact for customers, offering helpful guidance and friendly service as they shop for home improvement products.
Welcome customers warmly and professionally
Ask questions to identify customer needs and suggest appropriate products
Provide detailed information on merchandise features and advantages
Process transactions quickly and accurately
Follow up with customers when needed and show appreciation for their business
Stay up to date on promotions, financing programs, and special orders
Develop in-depth knowledge of products and services in your department
Recommend additional items to support customer projects
Keep merchandise stocked, displays neat, and labels accurate
Help with inventory management, including stock counts and restocking
Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe shopping environment
Work with other departments to ensure a smooth customer experience
Maintain open communication with teammates and supervisors
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
At least 6 months of experience in sales, retail, or customer service (preferred)
Proficient in reading, writing, and basic math
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds (heavier items with assistance)
Willingness to learn and use point-of-sale systems
Preferred Qualifications
Background in home improvement or related product knowledge
Bilingual skills may be beneficial based on the store's customer base
Experience working in retail or customer-facing roles
