Role and Responsibilities:
As a Sales Associate in Windows & Walls at Lowe’s, you will assist customers in finding the perfect window treatments, blinds, curtains, wallpaper, and décor solutions to enhance their homes. Your role is to provide expert guidance, showcase design options, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. - Customer Service:
- Greet and engage with customers in the Windows & Walls department.
- Understand customer design preferences and functional needs to recommend appropriate window treatments and wall décor.
- Offer personalized advice on product styles, colors, textures, and installation methods.
- Product Knowledge:
- Maintain thorough knowledge of window coverings (blinds, shades, curtains), curtain rods, wallpaper, and wall décor.
- Stay informed about product features, warranties, and care instructions to assist customers effectively.
- Sales and Upselling:
- Promote current sales, new arrivals, and special promotions.
- Upsell complementary items such as curtain hardware, installation tools, and wall décor accessories.
- Process customer purchases and handle special orders as needed.
- Merchandising & Stocking:
- Ensure shelves and displays are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Set up and maintain product displays and promotional signage according to company standards.
- Assist in inventory checks and restocking as required.
- Design & Customization Support:
- Help customers navigate customization options such as size, material, and color for window treatments.
- Support the custom order process by explaining lead times, taking measurements, and helping with order entry.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other associates and department managers to ensure an efficient and cohesive shopping experience.
- Communicate customer feedback and inventory needs to supervisors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in retail, home décor, or interior design is preferred.
- Familiarity with window treatments, wall coverings, or interior design concepts is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a sense of design.
- Ability to explain and demonstrate product features clearly.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable standing and moving around for long periods.
- Able to reach, bend, and handle product displays safely.
