Role and Responsibilities:

As a Checkout Operator at Lowe’s, you’ll be the final friendly face customers see—responsible for delivering a seamless and positive checkout experience. While your primary duties will be at the register, you may also support other areas as needed to keep store operations running smoothly.

• Provide efficient, friendly, and accurate checkout service

• Support customers using self-checkout stations

• Accurately scan, bag, and handle merchandise

• Operate the register to process payments and returns

• Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance

• Keep the checkout area clean, safe, and organized

• Take on additional duties as assigned by store leadership

Required Skills and Experience:

• Basic math, reading, and writing proficiency

• Ability to remain on your feet or seated for extended periods

• Comfortable using computers and entering or retrieving information

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs unassisted and more than 15 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation

• Willingness to obtain any state-required sales licenses or certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a retail or customer-facing role

• Ability to speak multiple languages

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay rate is based on several factors such as the specific role, location, experience, and education. This position typically offers a 40-hour workweek.
