Role and Responsibilities
In the role of Cashier Supervisor, you will lead front-end operations to ensure customers receive prompt, secure, and efficient service at checkout. You’ll model outstanding customer service, manage cashier and self-checkout stations, and mentor team members to meet store performance goals.
Monitor and assist multiple self-checkout areas, providing help to customers when necessary.
Warmly welcome customers, respond to inquiries, and offer product and service recommendations.
Guide and train front-end Customer Service Associates, ensuring smooth and accurate transactions.
Assist shoppers in locating merchandise, explain product benefits, and support with loading purchases.
Address and resolve customer and team issues swiftly and professionally.
Complete sales, returns, and refunds accurately, and manage register systems.
Open registers as needed and manage customer queues to improve checkout efficiency.
Evaluate returns, process online pickup orders, and verify required documentation.
Conduct routine checks to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized front-end area.
Stay alert to theft or fraud attempts and report to management or Asset Protection teams.
Ensure register cash drawers are accurate and operate equipment like Zebra devices, intercom systems, and paint mixers.
Support shelf replenishment and document in-store product usage.
Participate in daily store operations and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Note: Certain responsibilities may be restricted for employees under 18 due to legal requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
1–2 years of cashiering experience in a retail setting.
Basic familiarity with retail technologies like tablets and smartphones (less than 1 year required).
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
1–2 years of experience recommending services such as warranties, installation, or credit offers.
Previous experience as a Head Cashier or in a similar role at Lowe’s.
Supervisory experience including staff training, coaching, and performance reviews.
Knowledge of theft prevention techniques and security protocols in retail.
Physical Requirements
Must be comfortable with frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting.
Able to operate standard retail tools and handle merchandise safely and efficiently.
