Role and Responsibilities

As a Store Sales Consultant, you will be the first point of contact for customers, offering knowledgeable recommendations and exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.

• Warmly greet and assist customers in a courteous and helpful manner

• Engage with customers to understand their project goals and guide them to the right products

• Provide clear explanations of product features and benefits

• Complete sales transactions efficiently and accurately

• Follow up when needed and thank customers for their business

• Stay current with ongoing promotions, financing offers, and special-order services

• Develop thorough knowledge of the products and services in your department

• Recommend complementary products to support customers' home improvement efforts

• Keep store displays organized, shelves stocked, and labels accurate

• Assist with inventory checks, restocking, and maintaining correct pricing

• Adhere to all company safety protocols to maintain a safe shopping space

• Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure customer satisfaction

• Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership to accomplish daily responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

• Six months or more of experience in retail, customer service, or sales (preferred)

• Basic literacy and math proficiency

• Ability to be on your feet for long hours and lift up to 25 pounds (heavier loads with support)

• Willingness to learn and operate point-of-sale systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in home improvement or relevant product categories

• Bilingual communication skills based on store location and customer demographics

• Strong background in customer service or retail roles
