Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as a key support for customers, offering expert advice and outstanding service throughout their shopping experience.

• Greet customers with professionalism and a welcoming attitude

• Identify customer needs by asking project-related questions and recommending suitable products

• Explain the value, features, and benefits of merchandise clearly

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently

• Follow up with customers as needed and express appreciation for their visit

• Keep up to date on current promotions, financing options, and custom order services

• Build strong product knowledge within your assigned department

• Suggest additional products or solutions that align with customers’ project goals

• Maintain a clean and organized department, ensuring items are stocked and labeled correctly

• Participate in inventory checks, restocking efforts, and price accuracy

• Follow safety standards to provide a secure shopping environment

• Partner with team members across departments to address customer needs

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership to ensure smooth operations

Required Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• At least 6 months of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role preferred

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math

• Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting items up to 25 pounds (with help for heavier loads)

• Willing to learn and work with point-of-sale systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the home improvement industry or relevant product knowledge

• Bilingual abilities, depending on local customer needs

• A background in customer-facing or retail positions
