Role and Responsibilities
As a Order Fulfillment Associate, you are an essential part of the customer service journey, responsible for ensuring that orders are processed and delivered efficiently and accurately. Your role includes selecting, preparing, and loading merchandise for both delivery and store pickup. Responsibilities include:
Offering prompt, courteous service to customers and fellow associates.
Retrieving and organizing items according to customer orders and ensuring they are ready on time.
Verifying merchandise condition and order accuracy.
Safely loading items—including oversized products—into customer vehicles or delivery trucks.
Replenishing stock on shelves to maintain product availability.
Coordinating with delivery and installation teams to confirm order logistics.
Using power equipment safely and following company safety standards.
Keeping your workspace organized and following proper inventory management procedures.
Travel Requirements
This position generally does not require travel, although occasional travel for training or meetings may be necessary.
Required Skills and Experience
Proficiency in basic math, reading, and writing.
At least six months of experience using computers for data management tasks.
Comfort using mobile retail technology (smartphones/tablets).
Ability to lift 25 pounds independently (heavier items may require assistance).
Physically fit to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Ability to meet any legal licensure or registration requirements based on location.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of experience in retail, preferably in a home improvement environment.
Prior experience in customer service or order fulfillment roles.
Familiarity with handling, loading, or unloading merchandise.
Experience with powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks), with certification required within 30 days for Pro Department roles.
