Role and Responsibilities:

As a Principal Software Engineer at Lowe’s, you will guide and support your team in designing and implementing complex software solutions.you'll help shape the future of retail technology in a state-of-the-art environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead design and implementation of AI-driven solutions in the Merchandising Technology space, focusing on space planning and assortment optimization.
• Develop scalable platforms using advanced AI/ML models to optimize inventory and enhance customer experiences.
• Independently lead large projects, providing planning support, priority estimation, and mentorship to software engineers.
• Support all phases of the software development lifecycle and ensure systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) meet quality standards.
• Communicate software architecture changes and guide teams in applying best practices and resolving escalated technical issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software development or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including UI/UX, microservices/APIs, database technologies, and DevOps.
• 8+ years working on full software development lifecycle (SDLC) projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems.
• 6+ years using source code control, incident tracking, and technical documentation tools.
• 6+ years of systems analysis, high-level design, and defining technical requirements.
• 4+ years of experience with ITIL framework.
• 4+ years of leadership experience, with or without direct reports.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools.
