Role and Responsibilities
As a Cash Register Operator at Lowe’s, you’ll be the friendly final point of interaction for customers, helping ensure a smooth and satisfying end to their shopping experience. Although your main responsibilities will be at the checkout, you’ll also assist with other tasks to help keep daily store operations running efficiently.
Deliver prompt, courteous, and accurate checkout services
Offer assistance to customers at self-checkout stations
Scan items and bag them correctly and efficiently
Manage transactions including payments, refunds, and returns
Respond to customer inquiries and provide needed support
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the checkout area
Complete other tasks as assigned by store leadership
Required Skills and Experience
Basic ability to read, write, and perform simple math
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during shifts
Comfortable working with computer systems and inputting data
Capable of lifting 10 lbs independently and 15+ lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Willing to secure any licenses or certifications required by state laws for retail work
Preferred Qualifications
Prior retail or customer service experience
Ability to communicate in more than one language
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is based on several factors such as job responsibilities, geographic region, experience, and education level. This role generally involves a 40-hour workweek.
