Role and Responsibilities
As a Merchandise Loading Associate at Lowe’s, you will play a vital part in creating a positive shopping environment. Your responsibilities include collecting carts, assisting customers with transporting large purchases, and maintaining a safe and clean store atmosphere both indoors and outdoors.
Cart Retrieval and Organization: Collect shopping carts from store premises and parking areas, ensuring they are neatly returned to the designated locations for customer use.
Assisting with Merchandise Loading: Help customers load large or heavy items into their vehicles safely and efficiently, while providing friendly and helpful service.
Customer Interaction: Greet shoppers warmly, provide directions or support in finding products, and enhance the customer experience through responsive service.
Maintaining Store Cleanliness: Keep entrances, cart corrals, and walkways free of debris and obstructions to ensure safety and organization.
Inventory Assistance: When needed, support store operations by restocking shelves or replenishing merchandise on the sales floor.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 6 months' experience in retail, customer service, or a related role.
Ability to operate handheld store devices and basic technology tools.
Capable of independently lifting up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. with team assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work experience in retail, warehouse, or physically demanding roles.
Experience managing shopping carts, assisting customers, or replenishing inventory.
Familiarity with general materials handling practices.
Compensation and Benefits
This role may be scheduled as full-time (approximately 39–40 hours/week) or part-time (up to 25 hours/week), based on business needs. Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, and weekends is essential. Qualified associates are eligible for:
