Role and Responsibilities:

The Driver II – Line Haul is responsible for completing line haul deliveries within the designated market, working directly with the Branch General Manager to ensure timely, accurate, and safe transportation of goods. This position also plays a critical role in building and maintaining positive relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and support.

• Plan delivery activities and print loading tickets to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
• Utilize hand-held device technology to capture customer signatures during deliveries.
• Verify item quantities and descriptions against invoices before delivery.
• Support warehouse operations, including pulling, checking, and stocking items as needed.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles and equipment (e.g., lift gates).
• Report and escalate customer complaints or procedural violations.
• Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient service.
• Adhere to all safety and compliance policies regarding the operation of company vehicles and warehouse equipment.
• Route, load, and deliver products received daily from a supporting branch within the line haul market.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• 2 years of experience driving box trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) between 14,500 lbs. and 26,000 lbs.
• Ability to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) regulations.
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 months of experience operating forklifts or power equipment (e.g., lifts, order pickers).
• 6 months of experience performing retail or customer service deliveries.

Starting rate of pay may vary depending on several factors, including position, location, education, training, and experience.
