Role and Responsibilities
In the role of Material Handling Team Member at Lowe’s, you will help create a safe, clean, and welcoming shopping environment. Your main duties include collecting shopping carts, assisting customers with loading heavy items into their vehicles, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of both the store’s interior and exterior areas.
Cart Collection and Organization: Retrieve carts from the parking lot and store areas, returning them to designated spots to ensure availability for customers.
Assisting with Merchandise Loading: Help customers safely load bulky or heavy products into their vehicles, providing courteous and professional assistance.
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer their questions, and assist them with finding products or navigating the store.
Store Cleanliness: Keep entryways and cart storage zones tidy and free from debris to maintain a safe shopping space.
Inventory Support: Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining merchandise displays as needed to support store operations.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum six months of experience in retail, customer service, or a related role.
Comfortable using handheld devices and other store-related technology.
Physically capable of lifting 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in retail, warehouse, or physically demanding roles.
Experience in cart management, customer assistance, or merchandising support.
Basic knowledge of material handling procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
This position may be offered as full-time (usually 39–40 hours per week) or part-time (up to 25 hours per week), depending on the needs of the store. Candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Eligible associates may receive:
