Role and Responsibilities
As a Cashier Team Leader at Lowe’s, you’ll take the lead in overseeing front-end operations, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and secure checkout process. Your role includes delivering excellent customer support, supervising cashier and self-checkout areas, and coaching front-end team members to meet operational standards.
Supervise multiple self-checkout lanes while assisting customers as needed.
Greet and engage customers, offer guidance, and recommend relevant products or services.
Provide hands-on training and support for Customer Service Associates at the front end.
Help customers locate items, demonstrate product functionality, and load purchases.
Address customer and associate concerns with professionalism and effective solutions.
Handle transactions including purchases, returns, and refunds; manage register operations.
Alleviate checkout congestion by opening registers and managing waiting lines.
Evaluate returned merchandise, prepare pickup orders, and check loading documentation.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment while conducting regular safety checks.
Watch for signs of theft or suspicious activity and alert store leadership or Asset Protection.
Ensure registers are balanced, monitor store systems, and use devices like Zebra scanners, paging tools, and paint mixers.
Assist with inventory restocking and document any store-use product withdrawals.
Support overall store operations and complete other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
1–2 years of experience as a cashier in a retail setting.
Basic knowledge of retail technologies such as smartphones and tablets (under 1 year).
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
1–2 years of experience in sales or recommending products/services like warranties or credit.
Previous experience as a Head Cashier or in another department at Lowe’s.
Supervisory background, including coaching team members and evaluating performance.
Understanding of loss prevention practices and how to identify potential theft.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and bending throughout the shift.
Ability to operate store equipment and move merchandise safely.
